This project would allow students and staff to share original presentations, view labs or lectures in absentia, and attend virtual field trips, all via remote access. This technology is valuable in today's classroom as well as tomorrow's workplace. Students need to be well-versed in this technology and feel comfortable with the application of it. The project would inspire students to be creative and demonstrate knowledge through hands-on applications and in real time.
The exploration of digital technology to allow all students to create media projects as a way of demonstrating what they know and can do is an innovation for our district. Society has gone beyond writing a basic book report about characterization or writing about the animals seen on a recent field trip to the zoo. Creating a video project about either topic would allow the students to explore multiple intelligences, higher level thinking, and creative thinking in a collaborative environment.

The exploration of digital technology to allow all students to create media projects as a way of demonstrating what they know and can do is an innovation for our district. Additionally, the design and implementation of technology-driven lessons and assessments is relatively unexplored in the district, and access to technology will allow for more innovative instruction.
Technology can put a fun and innovative twist on traditional assignments. Specifically, year after year students write book reports and read poetry in English classes. There is much overlap in assignments, and students have a similar experience at all grade levels.
The use of digital cameras at the elementary level will allow students to share their excitement about reading by creating a Photo Story project that includes their original pictures, music, captions, and voice. In an Internet age, student voice gets lost as they rely on the thoughts and words of others. Students will invest in these projects and the authentic voice will come from within. Similarly, poetry is taught every year in every grade. Too often students only associate poetry with the printed text of the literary canon and struggle to understand or see its relevance to their own lives. At the secondary level, teachers can emphasize spoken word poetry and allow students to record performances of their original works.
